The water cycle is a very important part of our world, without the water cycle there would be total chaos, this is because the water cycle is a very precise cycle if one thing is of balance, the rest will topple apart. The Water cycle is a continuous cycle. It starts off with the sun that shines down on the water. Then it would evaporate the water and then the water would go up into the clouds. The gas turns into precipitation then slides on mountains and ice that goes to the aquifer or surface runoff then back into the ocean.
Any idea how much water there is on the Earth? - 332.5 million cubic miles
- 97% is in the oceans (321,000,000 cubic miles)
- 2% is in the polar ice caps
- 0.6% is in underground freshwater
- 0.01% is in rivers and lakes
- 0.001% is in the atmosphere
